Broadcast Operations

Note: WYBE is presently undergoing a major transformation in programming format and operations management. As the transformation proceeds, this job description will change.
Specific Responsibilities include:
- Processing of incoming media, including shipping and receiving, assignment of media numbers, end date maintenance, dubbing, encoding, routing, some video editing, and format conversion.
- Maintenance of video library and other forms of asset management.
- Quality control: adherence to technical standards
- Preparation and distribution of reports of known technical and playback issues
- Compile and update daily broadcast log
- Black air check

- Researching of program sources
- Serve as liaison with all departments to ensure timely delivery and broadcast of programs, interstitials, and other materials seen on air.
- Supervise the activities of a weekend coordinator.
- Attention to detail, quality, and cooperative relationships
- Comprehensive working knowledge of ProTrack, PSG Digital Broadcaster (or similar software), and other hardware, software, and processes required to fulfill above responsibilities.
- Occupies a dual role: serving the needs of other departments while demanding that other departments provide appropriate materials in a timely manner.
- Acknowledgement that this role is evolving; willing participation in development of new processes and new roles.
- Familiarity with master control operations and traffic systems for an FCC-licensed television broadcaster, preferably in a major market.
- Substantial with computer hardware and software, analog and digital video, and related encoding, master control, traffic, and related systems.
